Hanover Fair: Smart Marking
The factory of the future is the key topic at the Hanover Fair this week. Our colleagues from Schreiner ProTech, Schreiner ProSecure, Schreiner LogiData and Schreiner Services (Hall 8, D08) are on site, using infographics to illustrate what processes can be automated in a smart factory thanks to our functional labels and what information can be provided by means of smartphone apps.
So, the spotlight is on digitization, the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and smart manufacturing. In these scenarios, factories become smart—but no matter how smart a factory may be, it’s of little use if it processes inferior fakes. That’s why machines and components not only have to communicate what has to be processed in what way but verify their own authenticity as well. This requires smart marking solutions using RFID or NFC technology.
Today, functional labels can be utilized in both manufacturing and maintenance. Smartphone apps providing all the relevant information for manufacturers, salespeople, service technicians or customers make this possible. Applications range from intelligent shopping karts that independently load machines to component authentication by means of digital anti-counterfeiting features.
Our colleagues at the joint booth of the VDMA Protect-Ing Working Group in Halle 8, D08, will be pleased to provide additional details.
